Clos Canon

CLOS CANON

Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

History

Clos Canon is the second wine of the Château Canon, 1st Grand Crus Classé. The Château Canon is situated in the southwest of the ancient city, behind the old church of Martinmas, on the famous plateau of the first growths of Saint-Emilion. This growth, of whom the reputation is very ancient, owes its name to his owner of the XVIIIth century, Mr Kanon who, from 1760, had completely dedicated the domain to growing. In November, 1996, the property was bought by CHANEL.

A soil privileged for the vine, associated with a permanent preoccupation of the quality on behalf of the successive owners, continue to make for more than 2 centuries the fame of wines of Canon.
